Welcome! A lot of the work I’ve made over the past year has grown from thinking about empathy. I make abstractions by reconfiguring text into new visual patterns. In a series called Theory Of mind I’ve taken long passages of text about this theory from psychology for assessing an individual's capacity for empathy and what might contribute to an individuals ability to care for others and understand others. Importantly, theory of mind appears not just in humans but in Great Apes and other animals as well.    What appears in my work as a modernist set of free form linear abstractions is actually pages of text, reference materials and notes transformed by hand using digital tools into the final artworks. That gives them a hidden time based reality, so that if you could run time backwards to watch the artworks being made, they would eventually untangle themselves and return to legible text as each colored line is one individual letter from the original prose.
